Dear KidsCreek Family,
We are thrilled with the opportunity to serve your family through KidsCreek. Our prayers are that 2010 will be a year of great spiritual growth for our KidsCreek explorers.
In affirmation of the Biblical mandate that parents are responsibility for the child’s Spiritual Growth and development, we see our role as your servants. We are here to support you and to assist you in your pursuit of excellence in leading your child to an intimate and life transforming relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
As parents, we also recognize that we are often poorly prepared for this tremendous challenge. This brings us to the purpose of this letter. We have instituted a plan to begin giving you the help you need in knowing how to bring quality Christian Education, Bible Teaching, and Spiritual Formation into your home to the benefit of your children and family. We are calling our plan, KidsCreek Partners. We are combining this plan with a wonderful time to Celebrate the life God has given to you by honoring your child’s birthday in the classroom and large group the week of their birthday.
Here is how Birthday Blast & Parent Mentoring will work. We will ask every family to bring a birthday snack (nut-free) and celebrate with your child by serving in their classroom on Saturday or Sunday the weekend before or the weekend after their child’s birthday. They will be recognized during that service. The weekend and service time will be decided by the family to accommodate family schedule and demands We are asking that both parents participate (where applicable). Extended family are also welcome: grandparents, aunts, uncles and such. We also welcome and encourage you to attend a 30 minute meeting called OURSPACE the month prior to the birthday celebration to allow you to see behind the scenes in KidsCreek.
Our prayer is that this plan will do the following:
- Give you a sound Christian Education plan to do at home with your children. Learning how to teach the Bible to children takes some understanding. Our team works hard to understand this and to do it with excellence. After working with the team, you will have a clear view of reproducing this model in your home as you lie down, rise up, walk by the way (ala. Deuteronomy 6).
- By celebrating in the classroom, you will become acquainted with your child’s peers and meet a number of their parents, building your community here at BranchCreek.
- By celebrating in the classroom, you will communicate in a powerful way to your child that you are committed to their church, their spiritual growth, and their peers.
- By celebrating in the classroom, you will become intimately acquainted with the volunteer team that is committed to weekly touch your child’s life through love, teaching, sharing, and ministering side by side.
- By celebrating in the classroom, you will experience first-hand what our plan is for your child.
Would you please let us know the date you will be available to come in for your child’s birthday? We will confirm your child’s birthday celebration and notify you of the meeting date for your preparation. In advance, allow me, on behalf of the entire KidsCreek team to say thanks, and to tell you that through your cooperation, we anticipate the Spirit’s active change in the lives of our kids and your family.
Servingly,
chuck faber
